Setting display size/font in note

There's probably some clever way to handle this that I just don't know
about, but here's my issue:
I'm working on an outline. On my computer, a notebook, the default font
size (Helvetica 12) for a note is too small to read easily. I have to
increase the size to 14 to be able to read it comfortably. I can't find a
way to make this a default setting and so I'm having to select text in the
note and then do a Command+T to open the font dialogue box and then select
14. My outline is up to about 60 headlines now and this is getting old. Is
there an easier way to do this?
