copy paste children

If I have an outline with child rows hidden, i.e. "turned up," and 
select some of the rows, hit copy, switch to another program, and hit 
paste, it turns out that the children have been copied too. But 
sometimes I need to share only the top level details of an outline, and 
that is *why* I have hidden the child rows prior to copying. Actually, 
I can't think of an easy way to get only data to a certain level out of 
OO.

Do others feel this way? Should we make a petition?
