File interchange Input

James,

Thank you for the question around file formats. Let me add my little bit. I
use OO in two different ways. One is to create a simple outline without using
the column features. It would be useful to export this to either Word or
Powerpoint. I consider one the same as the other since they interchange easily. My
other use is as a small database using each row as a record and each column as
a field with the outline features giving me the ability to organize the data.
In this case it would be nice to export to Excel or to a Word table.

At this point, I would expect some users to tell me this is already possible
and perhaps point to Applescripts that would help. This brings me to my next
request. The exchanges I talked about above should be simple - as easy as
exporting to RTF in one word processor and then opening the RTF file in another. If
it gets much more complicated than that, the usefulness is diminished.

Thanks again for asking.

Randall Phillips
