Outputs vs. inputs

Robin,

Thanks for the info on Mellel, I jumped into the Nisus camp (yes, more
limited, but promising, IMHO), but was pretty interested in Mellel...

You've prompted me to bring up a thought that's occurred a few times...
Unless Omni are thinking of OmniWrite ( really doubt it!), I'd really
like to see OO3 and Nisus collaborate... or at the very least, working
together better,

e.g. it'd be really nice to be able to reliably use OO3 as an external
outliner (like the external Thesaurus)... with NWE2's style support,
and a few tweaks to the process, and it could work well,

e.g. a Service that will open text into an outline, and replace the
outline when you Save. If the formatting were consistent, and each
program was able to properly parse the other's formatting of an
outline, this could work very well.

Currently I've not had good results with OO2, it tends to insert too
many tabs, and the outlines don't tend to work too well (without extra
effort), in the receiving softrware.

With both OmniOutliner 3.0, and NisusWriter Express 2.0 coming up, I'm
looking forward to seeing just how well, these elegant tools will work
together.

Should also be interesting to look at this upcoming Mellel... lotsa
software toys to play with! ; )
