I thought that perhaps incremental search would be useful for this.  
That is if the tags in the pop-up column had a special format, say 
@Work, @Home, etc.  Then one could type the tag name in the incremental 
search and just see those items.

But, alas, incremental search doesn't seem to match text in pop-up 
columns.  That's probably a bug.
