Photo CD file problem

HI,

I was browsing the image offerings at Kodak (http:/www.kodak.com/) and tried to download  
some jpeg's from their image offerings. No problem at all -- OmniImage kicked in and displayed  
things superbly. When I tried to download a Photo CD (.pcd) file for comparison the ftp transfer  
took place in ASCII mode (and started filling my browser window with gibberish.)

Am I doing something wrong or is there a dwrite that I don't know about?

Any advice appreciated,
