Am I missing something here? Alt-clicking a link displays the URL in  
the text field at the top of the browser window.

As for auto-saving bookmarks, if the bookmarks window is not already  
displayed and I add a bookmark using the ribbon button (or menu  
item), I would prefer to have the bookmark added inconspicously and  
the bookmarks saved, rather than to have the bookmarks window brought  
up.
