WinSock equivalent on NeXT?

I have a PC at home with NeXT and Windows.  I access the internet via a SLIP
connection from Windows using WinSock Trumpet.  Is there an equivalent
to WinSock for the NeXT environment?  I've already downloaded OmniWeb and
OmniImageFilter.  OmniWeb looks great so it looks like I'll be able to
develop and surf at home.  Also is OmniWeb anything like InternetWorks which
lets you do multiple downloads?

PS: I'm fairly new to the NeXT environment and development but if John 
Carmack (DOOM) used it to develop DOS games then I must be on the 
right track.
