OmniImage + ImageViewer Puzzle

Here's something that baffles me:

I'm running NS 3.2 on Motorola

OmniImage.app & ImageViewer.app are both installed in /LocalApps

OmniWeb, OmniImageFilter, OmniImage are the recent 3.2 releases

Neither OmniImage nor ImageViewer is running

I start OmniWeb

I download a .jpeg file

OmniImage & ImageViewer are both launched.

The image displays in OmniImage

I quit OmniWeb

I go to /LocalApps and rename ImageViewer to xxxImageViewer

I restart OmniWeb

I download the same .jpeg file

OmniImage is launched

Nothing is displayed

It seems that, in my setup, OmniImage needs ImageViewer to be present or it  
will not display a .jpeg image downloaded via OmniWeb.

OmniImage has no problem displaying the same image if the Image is opened  
directly from OmniImage with the Open Panel.

What is going on?

Certainly puzzling, but you've got to admire ImageViewer -- it really wants to  
play!
