just a followup to the above mentioned speech note:

how far are we from implementing Neal Stephenson's Metaverse Street  
protocol ? (read his "Snow Crash" novel for more details)

I mean, 3D rendering, dynamically loadable binaries or Java like bundles...  
we've got it all... seems like a good starting point, huh ?

I'm not sure this mailing-list is the proper host for this thread. Yet NS  
users, and more specifically OmniWeb users, are probably the most  
appropriate recipients of such a forward-looking topic.

What do you guys think about a not so fictional Metaverse ?
