Mailto: suggestion

Several people have sent me mail suggesting that I set the Preference in
Mail for "New Mail Retrieval" to "Manual". I already did this long ago,
but I'd rather not even launch Mail.app if I don't have to. For one thing
it's slow, and for another the big "Get Mail" button makes me nervous...
I got another suggestion from John Milton which I plan to implement ASAP.

(Thanks John!)
The reason I stopped using NeXT's Mail.app is that it's tied to the
console. I need to access my email from many different terminals all over
the building and campus, plus from home. Once Mail.app grabs my messages,
and stores them in it's own non-standard format, I can't easily get at
them from anywhere else. Besides, I like Pine. If Mail, or any other NS
mail application, was compatible with the standard UNIX mail folders used
by Pine, I wouldn't mind trying it.
Either way, I would like to see a Preference in the next version of
OmniWeb to let me choose which program to use for "mailto:".
