PNG graphics format?

Admittedly there is little reason for PNG to be a priority at this moment.   
However I would point out that in beta and darned near finalization are the  
png and zlib reentrant libraries for manipulating png images.  These  
libraries are in source and are free for all uses, including commercial.  The  
hope is that these libraries will speed the availability and use of png.  In  
fact many applications have already incorporated png support.  See the
