In 1.0, you can alt-click a link to select it without following it.

In 2.0, you can control-click or right-click a link to select it without following it.  This even works for client-side image maps (a new feature in 2.0.)

Here's an interesting thought: If NetScape delays Navigator 2.0 much longer, OmniWeb 2.0 will be the first shipping browser on any platform to support frames.  That'd be pretty cool.
