This is true, but OS X (at least 10.3.6, german layout) does not let
you change "cmd-" only shortcuts.
Also, if you have many changes, the PrefPane method can become quite
cumbersome. What I would dream of
is a mechanism where one could have whole shortcut *sets*, such as a
"MORE set", national
keyboard sets etc. I even think that if Omni would provide the
mechanism, a zillion sets would be
provided by the community instantly :-)
Borland (I think) ages ago had an word processor which could mimick the
UI of word, wordperfect
and other then-famous wordprocessors. That app did not catch on, but
the idea of an adaptive UI
is intriguing.
