File Management Question

Well, the "clipping" file seems to lead us to create one big file to
keep everything together. At least, all data of the same nature
(clipping as opposed to to-do, etc.). But the fact of the matter is
that OO isn't meant for huge documents. For one thing, huge documents
take noticeably longer to open and save. With auto-save, that's pretty
bad. Then, hoisting and cloning are good and well but doing everything
in one file could become very confusing. And (AFAIK) it's not possible
to have sections of a file with different column structures.
So, having multiple files is a much better approach. And using the
Finder's directory structure as an added layer of hierarchy certainly
makes sense.
Having said that, OO3 certainly goes a long way toward better
management of long files (sections, hoisting, etc.). Personally, I'd
only use that in the final "production" steps of a document and would
still do most of the grunt work in different files...
