1. do they *need* to be that large? (i mean the
visual proportions, not the memory consumption)
if not, shrink 'em.
2. are they still tiffs? if so, you will need to
convert them to gifs or jpgs in order to be usable
across different platforms. that in itself
will reduce the size of the files considerably.
