Subject: Some problems I am having as a first time OmniWeb user.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
HI
I am installing OmniWeb 1.0 on my NeXTstation at home and am having
some difficulity. I would appreciate some help if possible.
My configuration:
I am running NeXTSTEP version 3.0 on m68 black hardware, and
OmniWeb web brouser 1.0 prerelease. Since the workstation is
for personal use and is not connected to a local network, I have
disabled the net daemons. I am using TransSys DialUpIP SLIP
version 920904 by Louis A. Mamakos. I followed the directions
in their furnished documentation to set up the network
configuration.
I am connecting successfully to my Internet account and
accessing the Internet. There are several side effects
I am having with the OmniWeb Web brouser however.
Now for my problems:
1. When I click on one of the links in the brouser list or use the
right arrow button at the top of the main OmniWeb brouser window,
I get an error box indicating a connection error. When I use the
right arrow button to try to connect again, it works. The error
box indicates what appears to be a bad path.
Example:
http:///digifix.digifix.com/. . . and so on

notice the extra forward slash
How do I fix this side effect?
2. I used the preferances option to try to change my default
proxy or root path. I locked up the application several times
doing this.
3. Graphics & images do not appear in any page of information
within the web brouser display. In their place is the standard
NeXTSTEP square box indicating a graphic or raster image.
4. As soon as the OmniWeb application is started and a connection
made I would like for my mail to be collected from a server
different from the one I am logged on. How do I do this as I
bring up the OmniWeb application? On PCs a POP3 client is used
to collect mail. Does anyone know where I can get and set up a
POP3 client for the NeXT?
