how to browse newsgroups?

howdy,

I've got OmniWeb set up so I can check out one newsgroup at a  
time--url=news:rec.arts.books, for instance--but I dont seem to be able to  
browse.  If I enter "news:*" then I get a list of everything (including stuff  
that's not actually available through my server)

what I'd like to do is be able to browse through available groups, ideally to  
enter the first part of the name (i.e. "news:rec.arts") and get a bookmark  
list that's actually drawn from the server I've specified. Anything that  
would let me look at an accurate-for-my-server list would be good though....

If this isn't possible please enter my vote for improved newsreading  
capabilities in future....and does anyone have any kluge ideas for the  
present?
