Version 2 beta -- When?

We probably won't have a really nice beta of 2.0 until November.  Unfortunately we got very badly burned on 1.0 by releasing betas that were not ready for prime time, so our new policy is not to release a beta until we really feel it's solid.  Personally, I think the customers lose with this, but we had too damn many people judging us by the 0.9.3 release, and in fact people are still using 0.9.3 and sending us bug reports about it.

The current feature list for 2.0 includes PDF support, tables, font size extensions, background images, incremental image display, true multi-threading, and loadable converter bundles.  You should be able to create your own protocols, converters, and HTML extensions -- the interface will be documented, and many of our converters will actually ship as bundles to speed up launch time.
